The Community Church Softball League has restructured, so starting in the Spring 2012, we are no longer a "Church" League. We are now a Christian Softball League, no Church affiliation is required. Therefore, our new league name is the Delco Christian Softball League. So the league will be taking applications for new teams. At this time, we have 7 teams in the league and hope to expand to 10-12 teams, based on the level of interest.
This league will be an ASA registered league, and except for some league rules, all games will be played under the guidance of ASA rules and regulations.
Current managers and league members are the stewards of the league. We do not have a commissioner, but instead each team manager assists in the operation of the league.
All new teams will be required to have the following:
- Field permit
- Insurance
- A maximum 20 man roster
Each player on each team (New and existing) will be required to sign the league's Code of Conduct Roster form. Points of emphasis are that bad behavior, poor sportsmanship, and foul language will not be tolerated, and each player should act in accordance with the Christian teachings and beliefs they learned growing up. All games conclude with a group prayer or moment of reflection. New teams and sponsor names will be approved by current league managers.
Our league fields are now located in Ridley, Prospect Park, Collingdale, Drexel Hill and Upper Darby. All interested teams should keep this mind if interested. Last season we had a 20 game schedule and all games started at 6:30 p.m. League games were scheduled Monday thru Thursday night from April to July, with playoffs concluding at the end of July. No scheduled doubleheaders. League fees are also reasonable, as the league does not award a cash prize, because the members of this league play for a higher authority.
